Two Years Old Achievement

2 years 0 months

• A-Z wooden board game. Place all the letters A-Z into the correct place in the board. 2-4 minutes. The skill is probably there before 2. This toy is one of her 2 years old birthday present.
• says "I love you" to mummy. At 27 Aug 2009, 7:37pm. 749 days old.
• Talk with understanding of what she is speaking.
• 23 month: favorite TV show Tweety.
• 24.5 month: favorite TV show Hi5.
• likes to wear her Halloween custome. Previously, she'll pull out the custome once it was put on, now drag out the plastic bag, take out the custome and ask you to help her put on. Take them down, and she try to put on again.
• complete 12 piece jigsaw puzzle without help
• take off her diaper and throw in the dustbin in the toilet.

2 years 1 months

• complete 16 piece Barney jigsaw puzzle without help
• walk down stairs (6 steps) without support
• climb down metal chain ladder (in playground)
• talk with knowledge of what she's talking: where is it, where are you
• must play the 6 sets of jigsaw puzzle everyday.
• we dismental her baby bed, and she now sleeps on a single size mattress on the floor.
• at school, when sees mummy, go to computer room to take her bag, go to shoe rack to take her shoes, sit on the sofa and wait for mummy to put on her shoes.
• know how to say thank you and xie xie diligently.
• know how to pass gong gong's clothes to gong gong when instructions is given.
• knows how to cry persistently to get what she wants. A lot less easy to distract her now.
• Try to feed playground tortoise and horse models by placing sand into the mouths.

2 years 2 months

• remember the East Coast lagoon hawker center resident cat (after 1 month), says "cat, cat" repeatedly when she's walking from the car park to the hawker center. Chase the cat around when she saw it.
• favorite TV show is still Hi5. Favorite song is Hi5 "Happy Monster Dance".
• Eat more variety of food: green vegetables, chicken, fish. Favorite food: rice, honey star cereal.
• knows a lot of object/animal names: car, bus, cat, fish, dinosaur, carrot.
• count from 1 to 6 (in English)
• know how to operate her toy water gun.
• know how to hold our hands and direct us to places that she wants to go.
• Feed hamsters. Place seeds into hamster's mouth.
• New playground stunt: poke sand using her index finger.
• New playground stunt: pick up twigs on the floor, bring it over the fence to throw.

2 years 3 months

• don't like playground anymore
• favorite activity is to make daddy carry her for 400m to the Supermarket, tour the Supermarket, buy a $1 donut, eat while daddy carry her back.
• favorite TV show: Big Bad Wolf from The Early Years Disney Sing Along
• knows how to say "no! no!" to tell daddy to switch show.
• favorite snack: donut
• favorite food: chicken rice
• knows how to wear sandals with Velcro strips by herself, don't know left or right, need to place in correct order in front of her first.
• likes to feed her toy doll: toy bowl and toy spoon, scoop, blow, put at doll's mouth.
• train her doll to sleep: place doll on bed, put blanket, cover doll eye with hand, pat doll's tummy, says "sleep!".

2 years 4 months

• Know how to speak in phrases: What's that. I want juice.
• knows how to blow a party blower (sometimes managed to get sound). Learned it within 30 minutes.
• favorite fruit: strawberry
• favorite food: chicken rice. Eat half a plate of chicken rice using the big spoon on her own.
• can repeat new words we say just 1 or 2 times. E.g. Shui Hou (water tap).
• knows how to put the toy cake in front of the baby toy, clap and sing happy birthday song, blow, cut cake using toy knife.
• hang on to monkey bar for a few seconds.
• climb down rope ladder.
• knows how to slide across screen to unlock iPhone, and navigate between pages of iPhone menu button screens.

2 years 5 months

• knows how to blow bubbles
• pack her own bag: put milk powder, juice bottle, Minnie into her bag.
• Command others: "Sit down there!", "Put this here!", "Wear this shoe", "I want piggies" (the 3 little pig music video)
• More phrases: pointing to her classmate: "Where is she going?". Daddy shift her sleeping position from 1 bed to another, she open her eyes, says: "Where am I?", close eyes and go back to sleep.
• favorite fruit: kiwi
• favorite TV show: Rock It!
• can recognize Daddy's cough. Hide under the table when heard Daddy's cough from outside the house.
• start of the "What is that?" era.
• Watch Tom and Jerry DVD: when she saw the THE END screen, she'll run to hide under table. She's afraid of the MGM Lion roar. After the Lion roar, she'll go back in front of the TV to watch the show.
• can sing the "Five little ducks went out one day" song. Sing a few verse without hint or help. Words not correct. The tune is somewhere there.
• Not interested in Cold Storage and Donuts anymore.
• Says "I want to wear this."
• Favorite game: play with water in the bathtub. She has a few bowls and cups. Fill them with water, scoop water using toy spoons from 1 container to another, pour water from 1 container to another. No need to add soap for bubble effect anymore.
• Says "I want some more Pu Tao (grapes)" and points to the grapes on the table.
• Sings the "Five little ducks went out one day" song loudly at school, and hold a book with picture of duck and go around showing to every classmate.

2 years 6 months

• Says some Chinese words. "Xiao Niao... Fei Zhou Le" (Small bird.... fly away)
• Squat on the floor, arms tug beside body. Walk and wave arms like a duck.
• likes to take out all her books and ask daddy mummy to read them one by one.
• able to cycle on the toy tricycle.
• Favorite food: Bak Kwa

2 years 7 months

• Start to have dialog.
• Start of the "I don't want" era.
• Says "Jiang Hua Yu ah" to mummy.
• Reject violent cartoon: Tom and Jerry. Says "I don't want" after seeing Tom get whack.
• Reject bad things happening in cartoon: 2nd half of Disney on Ice 2010, when the witch appear and the music turns creepy, say "I don't want" and want to get out of the stadium. Say "I don't want" during a fire scene in a classic mickey cartoon.
• Teacher says can start to toilet train. Fail.
• Favorite toy: Mushabella Wylie (red monkey)
• Survive in school without Minnie. Mummy finally agree to stop bringing Minnie to school after another "Where is Minnie" scare.
• After Daddy draw a big circle and 2 small circle (face and ears), says "yan jing" and draw 2 dots, says "bi zi" and draw a small nose, says "zui ba" and draw a line.
• Favorite show: Gummy Bear, Duck Song, Baby (Bubble, Diaper, etc)
• Teacher says: she don't like Hi5, keep saying "No. No." when teacher play Hi5 on TV. Wants to play puzzle, take out books and ask teacher to read. Can complete puzzles while other kids are struggling with the puzzles.
• Favorite store: Toys"r"Us.
• Tear and throw bread to feed fish in East Coast.

2 years 8 months

• First in class in doing jig saw puzzles.
• Last in class in toilet training.
• Able to do 2x 40 pieces Barney puzzles at the same time. 2 puzzles side by side, with the 2 sets of pieces all mixed up.
• Favorite show: Tweenies.
• Favorite animal: Elephant, Snake
• Favorite T-shirt: Red Phuket Elephant T-shirt
• can name all the colors in a 12 color crayon box. E.g. says "I want yellow color" then take the yellow stick.
• came back home from school and tell Mummy: "I fight with Sagi in school. I push her." And can show the action of pushing.
• Playing with Ratatouille magnetic book. After Papa demonstrate how the mouse "jump, jump, jump, sleep (place mouse in horizontal position)" for 5 times. Can independently demonstrate it to Mummy without Papa around.
• Favorite toy: Hello Kitty Tricycle. After a outdoor ride, must bring the tricycle into the house and park it in the living room. First ride (after more than half a year), after the ride, insist on sitting on the tricycle in the living room, until she's so tired, we force her into the bed room, and she cry to sleep.
• Favorite Computer Game: Mario Cart DS.
• Able to navigate 7 levels of menu in Mario Cart DS. Click, Click, Click, select character (says I want Mario, then click on Mario) (says I want tortoise, then click on tortoise) (says I want monkey, then click on Donkey Kong), Click, select Track, Click. Press and hold A to move the cart, don't know how to use + pad to navigate left-right. When received item, press Y to use item. Favorite item: Rocket.
• start to demand things just by viewing a catalog. The Tweeney's VCD cover has a page displaying the cover art of the 6 episodes of the series. We have 4 episodes. She'll point to the episode that we don't have, and say "I want this Tweeney". We load in a Tweeney disk into the CD drive, she'll scream "I don't want", eject and take out the disk, then point to the episode that we don't have, and say "I want this Tweeney". She has the shopping genes from Mummy.
• 20100426 Able to open the bedroom door by herself. Tip toe to reach for the door knob, turn the knob, open the door and walk in.
• 20100430 6.20pm

Mummy reached school and saw Weng Yee pushed her friend, Kayden. Shocked, Mummy immediately scolded Weng Yee and beat her hands and asked her to apologise. Weng Yee refused but went over to hugged Kayden instead. According to Teacher Sarina, Weng Yee always pushed her friends. A moment ago, she just pushed another friend, Belle. Teacher Sarina and Mummy told Weng Yee to apologise but she really refused. 10 mins passed yet she just stood there quietly. She was apologetic but just refused to burp out the word. Mummy went out of her classroom and got her bag. She followed and gestured Mummy to carry her. But Mummy refused. Ms Koh came over and again asked Weng Yee to apologise. This time, she did softly because she was afraid Mummy will go away without her. Mummy is heartbroken to see her angel is so violent in school.

20100502 PM. Papa asked her whether she wants to go to Cold Storage. She ran to wear her shoes. Then she says: "Bicycle. Bicycle." Walk to the tricycle parked in the living room and try to drag the tricycle out. She knows when to get off the tricycle, and help carry the tricycle up/down stairs. At Cold Storage, she help Papa to park the tricycle outside the store (when Mummy was around, she'll insist on riding the tricycle into the store). On the way back, she came down and help push the tricycle for quite a distant. Reached the house, she insist on bring the tricycle into the living room, and park it nicely.

• Always ask Mummy, What are you doing?
• At MRT station, tap her Mickey bag on the card reader pad at the gentry entrance.

2 years 9 months

• Favorite Video: Culture Cubs
• Says "Don't fight, don't fight" when she saw her classmates pushing each other. Says "Don't fight, don't fight" when her chick and penguin wind up toy collide.
• Named her chick wind up toy - Melody Chickee, her penguin wind up toy - Inchana Penguin. Both Melody and Inchana are her classmates.
• Favorite Pic: Animal cupcakes.
• 20100518 Once she woke up, Weng Yee asked for Giraffe. Mummy didn't know which giraffe she was looking for but the 1st thought was Toys R Us logo. And told her that she has to wait for Papa to come back if she wants to go to Toys R Us. And she said, No no no. Not Toys R Us. Mama really cannot understand which giraffe she was referring to. And Weng Yee continued to mumble. Then she mentioned, Cold Storage giraffe. Mama thought she saw some giraffe stuffs in Cold Storage and again told her that if she wants to go to Cold Storage, she has to wait for Papa too. After a while, she said she wants to go to school. That surprised Mama. And Mama happily hurried up and sent her to school. In the car, she pointed to the front. Mama thought it was the giraffe soft toy she was looking for and asked her if she wants it. She replied, No. It's a baby giraffe. And continued to point in front. I opened up the visor and she said, Not there. Mama opened up the compartment and saw her giraffe sunglasses there and showed to her. And she said, Yes. The sunglasses has been inside the compartment for more than 2 months and Papa and Mama both have forgotten about this. Weng Yee only wore this once to the Cold Storage and played at home for a few days before it landed in the compartment.
• Can remember which missing piece in her jigsaw puzzles respectively.
• Can recognize numbers 1 - 5 and letters A - H.
• Pressed the correct lift buttons when instructed.
• Knows who bought or gave the toys or things to her.
• Picked up the fishing net from the pool with her toes.
• Can describe where did she go and what did she play.
• Asked Mummy, What are you cooking?
• Helped Mummy to hang the clothes and tidy the room without being command.
• Her security item is a yellow bag from Cathay Pacific, loaded with maps and tickets from Ocean Park and Disneyland HK, crayons, coloring papers, wind up toys. The bag sticked to her even during bed time.
• Started to toilet train her on 28th May 2010.
• Changed to sippy cup on 31st May 2010.
• Can recognize words like Toys R Us, Stuck in the Mud, Too Hot, My Body etc.....
• Using adjectives: "white bag", "beautiful horse", "pretty princess", "slippery soap", "my favourite".
• know what is right and wrong.

2 years 10 months

• Still fail toilet training. More frequent trips to toilet at school. Occasional request to go toilet when in shopping centers. But still wet her diapers frequently.
• able to do real both legs together jumping (yeah. she's really slow at this)
• hold and lick ice cream cone, for more than 20 minutes, without accident. (Mama and papa give occasional help to lick away the melted ice cream). Her first ice cream cone on 4 July 2010, from MacDonalds.
• know the concept of "my": says "my bag", "my Papa".
• good at remembering who gave her which toys: "Popo give me kangaroo bag", "Aunty Shirley give Mama this bag"
• able to tell us what she wants: "I want chicken rice", "I want char siew rice", "I want mr potato", "I want little mermaid".
• Know "Oh my God" phrase.
• Told Papa that he cannot take off his sandals when he is outside, "Don't take out" when she saw Papa lifted off his foot from his sandal.
• can recognise more letters. Told Mama "N" at the carpark.
• can sing "Na na na na na. You can't catch me" from Ge Ge after 1 field trip.

2 years 11 months

• toilet training pass. Average 1 accident every few days. Still need to wear diaper during sleep time.
• favorite show: Mr Potato, Cake/Cookie making tutorials, Little Mermaid
• favorite food: char siew rice, chicken rice, pizza, cheezel
• favorite playground: Toys R Us
