Another day at East Coast Park. Daddy called Mummy to met him and Uncle Wei Tao at the East Coast Park. Mummy ferried Weng Yee there while Daddy jogged with Uncle Wei Tao. We started the journey 30 minutes later and yet we had to wait for them there. In the car, I asked Weng Yee, "Where is PaPa?" She turned her hands with the palms facing upwards. It means not here or don't have. Then I asked her, "Do you want to look for PaPa?" She turned her head vigorously, indicating don't want. Hahaha.... At Torsten's Birthday Party. Torsten turned 3 on 15th Dec 2008 and we were invited to his birthday party on 14th Dec. We dressed up Weng Yee but only to realise that the dress is abit short for a 16 months old little Weng Yee. Instead of exposing her diaper, we let her wore a panty which has the similar colour as her skirt. She didn't understand what was happening there but she did enjoyed herself with her friends, Torsten and Linda. And she enjoyed the food there too like curry puff, pandan cake, fruit jelly and ice-cream cake. She just cannot stop eating and moving. Tue 30 of Dec., 2008 22:05 SGT 21 1117 List
Back to the beach. We are the regulars at the beach. But since the CNY holiday, we had yet to find time to bring Weng Yee to the beach. Today, Weng Yee woke us up early and off we went to the beach at about 10am. As usual, breakfast at McD and then to the beach. What was so special today? Besides playing the sand, Mummy carried her to the sea and she stood there for a few minutes tyring to observed the waves and water. Once she felt safe and fun, she could not stop charging towards the sea and Daddy had to carry her away. These few days, we tried to bring her out to her regular places like playground and stroll around the estate. Ever since the trip back to Malaysia, Weng Yee's confidence is gone and she is fearful everytime she doesn't see Mummy. It is not our little cheerful princess anymore. Previously, she will explore the places by herself. Of course, occasionally she will check us out. But this trip changed her completely. She sleeps alot and wants us to carry her all the time. The worst is she always want Mummy only. To add salt to her wound, we sent her to playgroup immediately after the trip. So her life changed rapidly since. Good or not, we are not sure. Chinese New Year 2009 - Malaysia and Singapore. We started our trip back to Malaysia on 21st Jan and stayed there until 30th Jan. First stop, KL and stayed there for a night before continuing our final destination, Ipoh, the next day. Eve was in Rawang and we spent another night in KL and visited Tai Po on the first day and back to Ipoh again at night. It was a tiring trip for Daddy and Mummy because Weng Yee could not adapt well to the new environment. We didn't have a chance to capture more pics in Malaysia. Chinese New Year Greeting!!! Gong Xi Fa Cai! It's another new year. This year we bought a traditional Chinese costume for Weng Yee in Chinatown. There are so many designs to choose and we could not decide which one. We shopped for a number of stores there and compared the prices there. It can go from $10 to $20 for a set of red red costumes. But what I found out is all the designs are available in every stores there and most of them are of the same brand. We got Weng Yee the cheapest cheongsam. Why? Hmm.... First reason is she will only wear twice - for the photo taking and the first day of Chinese New Year. Second reason is we prefer a thinner material. Not too hot. It will be very hot during the New Year. So better get a thinner material one. Alright. We took these photos on that day we bought it and it was difficult to take a decent photo now. She just cannot stop and sit still for us. Thus we got ready 2 cameras, one for mummy and another for daddy, and both of us took it while chasing her around the house. Excursion to Botanic Garden. Saturday night, Mummy and Daddy were discussing about Sunday's plan. Normally, Sunday mornings are spent outdoor. This time Botanic Garden clicked. The last time we went there was on Weng Yee's birthday. Time flies. It has been more than 6 months since. We try to nurture Weng Yee's interest in outdoors and natures. We packed our things after Weng Yee finished her milk. Off we went. During our journey, Mummy and Daddy were thinking of where to have breakfast. Daddy wanted Adam Road Food Centre because Mummy mentioned that she has never been there before. Reached there at about 10.20am and Daddy's favourite nasi lemak stall was accumulating more and more people and a long queue was formed. We settled with another famous stall (we judged according to the newspapers cuttings), that is prawn noodle. Weng Yee had a few mouthful of it, 2 pieces of prawns and some slices of pork with noodles. She loves the soup (practically she loves liquid, be it juices or soup). Honestly, the noodle is nothing to applaud of. We still love the Old Airport Road one. We reached Botanic Garden at about 11am. It was hot and humid. But we still enjoyed very much. Weng Yee didn't walk much. She wanted Mummy to carry her but Mummy passed this responsibility to Daddy. She only came down to explore when there are something amazing and new to her. She loves dogs. First day in playgroup. 3rd February 2009 was Weng Yee's first unofficial day in playgroup. We enrolled her in Smartz Playhouse in Lucky Heights, 5 minutes drive from home. This playhouse is slightly different from the others. It has a big compound filled with 2 rabbits, slides and other outdoor toys which Weng Yee enjoys very much. Besides these, it has a corner for bikes riding. The main purpose of sending Weng Yee to a playgroup is to let her interact with others. We don't expect her to learn academically but to have a social life and physical exercise there. Daddy and Mummy brought Weng Yee along on 2nd February to enrol her and thought of joining in on the 10th. But according to the person in charge there, Ms Koh, that they don't pro-rate the fee. So it's charged on monthly basis. Thus we made up our mind to send her there the next day. The next day, we reached there at 3pm, hoping to let her join in the class which according to the time-table given that its activities started from 3.30pm - 6pm for the afternoon session. Mummy need to pass all the completed forms and fees to Ms Koh and told her about Weng Yee's behaviour and attitude. Mummy packed and left some diapers and extra clothes at the school. Everyday, Mummy just need to bring Weng Yee's drinks and food. Unfortunately, Ms Koh was not around when we reached there. We helped ourselves there. Weng Yee was not afraid of the new environment. She constantly helped herself out at the toys and books on the shelves. But she still listened to Mummy when instructions were laid. After an hour there, Ms Koh was back and we busied ourselves with the procedures. To make her feel at home, Ms Koh gave her banana. Weng Yee grabbed a bite and returned to Mummy's arms. She finished the banana when Mummy fed her. Some funny incidents happened there. There was a basket full of kitchen wares and fruits. Weng Yee started to 'cook' and gave Mummy an apple and an orange and gestured Mummy to feed her those!!! Hahaha.... And the bell rang in my head. Weng Yee had not snack since her lunch at 2pm. I quickly told her that there are raisins in her bag and she walked over to the bag and searched for ehr raisins. She sat down on the chair and started her raisins feast. I brought her back at 4.30pm without leaving her there alone. We have a dinner to attend at night and Weng Yee has to nap before going out. First Encounter With Goat and Sand On 29th November 2008, daddy brought Weng Yee out with Uncle Cheang, Auntie Stephanie, Sze Yin Jie Jie and Basil Ge Ge. Together, they paid a visit to Po Po(paternal grandma) in Bukit Batok. As usual, Weng Yee's day was filled with laughter. She went out at about 12pm, after her first nap. No porridge but milk only. After visiting Po Po, they went to Hay Dairies, a goat farm in Lim Chu Kang. There, she was exposed to goats and chocolate goat's milk. Daddy said she only sipped some. Of course, she was no allowed to roam on her own feet there. Daddy carried her throughout while watching Jie Jie and Ge Ge feeding the goats. The second stop was the West Coast Park. Again, another first exposure. This time was the sand. She felt with her hands now. Not her mouth(Babies used to feel with their mouth first before passing the duty to their hands when they grow older) Though sometimes she still put things into her mouth when we're not keeping an eye on her. After the sandie encounter, they went to the kid's happiest place on earth - Macdonald's She was fed by Jie Jie and Ge Ge. Daddy got her the bottled baby food. Each of them fed her one spoonful each time. Passing around was so much fun for them. And guess what side dish she had A bite of fries. Yummy yummilicious. But daddy made sure that it was free of salt before feeding her. Just a bite only(that was what daddy ensured mummy). Happy time passed very fast. The sky turned dark and time to head home. Mummy was waiting at home for Weng Yee(I was not used to without Weng Yee when I reached home. This should be the first time). We thought she will sleep after reaching home. But she didn't want to. She still wanted to play and watched TV. We bathed and changed her and fed her milk and threw her into her cot and didn't care about her plead. She has not been sleeping since 12pm and it was about 10pm when we dumped her into her bed. So we were not being insensible. Right? She fell asleep after a minute of complaining. Gong Gong's birthday 2009. Yeah!!! Another year celebrating Gong Gong's birthday. He's 77 this year and is still going strong because he still carries me to gai gai everyday. This time I had the chance to taste the fabulous chocolate cake. Yummilicious. And another surprise was Kea Roy Ge Ge and Keari Jie Jie are back!! So many cousins around. Halloween 2008 Uncle Kai gave 2 halloween costumes to Weng Yee when he was back during the summer holiday. They were just nice to fit Weng Yee in October but abit lose. Those are for 12 months old babies. As Weng Yee is quite petite, we need to wait until she was 14 months old. It was quite a hassle to change her. She's no longer a baby. So she has her temper now. She doesn't like anything (beside no-fuss clothings and shoes) on her body. Clothes which have too many ornaments will trigger her temper and she will try to take them off. Especially hats or head gears. The costumes come with head-piece but we were not fast enough to take more decent photos before she took it off. Halloween should be spooky. But with Weng Yee, it's not spooky but cute. The dress just made her look so matured and adorable. We wished that she can sit still or pose professionally for us to take the photos. In the Playground. Every morning, Weng Yee has the chance to roam around the estate. And the main attractions are the pool and playground. Now since she can walk, we let her does her own stunts in the playground. She loves it. Climbing up the stairs and slide too. It's fun. Santarina on the run (2008 Christmas) It's year end again. Wow! Time flies and this year again our princess Weng Yee was transformed into Santarina for a moment. This time we no longer confined ourselves in the room to take the greeting photos. Weng Yee loves outdoors, thus we quickly changed her after her breakfast. Weather was not good. Grey skies and no cloud. She was very agitated when we changed her because daddy just carried her away from the TV. And to make things worst, he dressed her up the wrong side We took her beloved Minnie out from her cot to calm her down. There were 2 photographers (daddy and mummy) following her to catch the best posture. She walked around the condo compound which leads to the pool. Throughout the whole journey, our Santarina didn't really look at us but to the ground instead. She is still curious with the surrounding eventhough she 'tours' everyday. That's why most of the photos can't really capture her sharply. Anyway, we called it a day when Weng Yee sticked herself to mummy. Sign of tiredness. Swim Swim Swim. Swimming will be a weekly affair for Weng Yee. I got a new Minnie Mouse swimming costume for her. It is meant for a 2 year old toddler but can't wait too long. It is so cute!!!! If I took off her diaper, her pants will fall. Hahaha... Sat 20 of June, 2009 20:51 SGT 291 15854 List
